About Frisky Business Rescue
A no-kill, foster-based animal rescue caring for South Carolina’s most vulnerable animals since 2022.
Our Mission
In service of domestic animals in South Carolina, Frisky Business Rescue is a no-kill rescue that provides vital resources such as veterinary care, birthing assistance, medication, and rehoming or safe release (TNR) to the most vulnerable animals in the region. We specialize in animals with special circumstances that come from various backgrounds, including animal hoarding and abusive situations but primarily focus on vulnerable kittens, puppies, and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats. Before rehoming, we carefully screen new potential families to ensure the needs of our animals can be met and that new homes will become furever homes.
Our Story
Frisky Business Rescue was founded in 2022 by our president, Hannah Crumpton, but the idea behind it started long before that.
Hannah has always loved animals and originally planned to become a veterinarian. While in college, she began volunteering at a local animal rescue and quickly discovered that her real passion was working directly with animals, understanding their individual needs, and helping the ones who needed a little extra care. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in Animal & Veterinary Science and completed a formal shelter internship, where she gained hands-on experience in animal care, shelter operations, and veterinary care. Before completing her internship, she was trusted with overseeing the shelter’s cat program.
Hannah had always planned to start a rescue of her own someday. That “someday” started small: one kitten became a couple of kittens, then a litter, then a couple of litters. Eventually, dogs joined the mix, and it became clear that this was no longer just a few animals being helped on the side. Frisky Business Rescue officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2022, and it has continued to grow from there.
Today, FBR focuses on giving animals who are especially vulnerable in traditional shelter environments the time, space, and individualized care they need. While Hannah ultimately realized that surgery and clinical practice weren’t her calling, her love of veterinary medicine never went away. She especially enjoys working with medical and special-needs cases, and her years of shelter, veterinary, and animal-care experience continue to shape how FBR operates.
FBR is constantly evolving, not simply to take in more animals, but to become a better, more effective rescue. Every part of the organization is built around the same goal that started it all: giving vulnerable animals a real chance at a safe, loving home.
Our ideal adopters understand that animals don’t have to be bred to be a perfect fit for their family. You can’t buy love, but you can rescue it.
Who We Help
We focus on animals who are especially vulnerable in traditional shelter environments and who benefit from extra time, space, and individualized care.
Kittens & Litters
We help kittens and litters who need a safe place to grow, socialize, and prepare for adoption, with neonates remaining with their mother whenever possible until they are old enough for adoption.
Pregnant & Nursing Moms
We provide safe, supportive care for pregnant and nursing mothers, giving them the space and stability to raise their babies until they are ready for adoption.
Vulnerable Dogs
We prioritize dogs who can be especially difficult to house in a traditional shelter, including small dogs who become overwhelmed, XL dogs who need more space, and dogs who need grooming or additional individualized care.
Seniors, Special Needs & Community Cats
We give senior and special-needs animals the extra time and care they need, while also helping community cats through humane TNR to reduce overpopulation and stabilize local colonies.
Transparency
Frisky Business Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 88-3824046). As a small rescue, we file IRS Form 990-N. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
